Washington DC Wedding Photographer - Woodend Chevy Chase Maryland - Emily and Ben

My friend Moshe called me up last minute to help him cover Emily and Ben's wedding at the beautiful Woodend in Chevy Chase Maryland. We shot there earlier this year, but this time we lucked out with beautiful weather, clear blue skies and a nice cool breeze whispering through the trees. This had to have been one of the most fun couples I've photographed this year. Emily (who looked stunning in her dress) was letting tears of joy run down her face as friends and family performed readings during the ceremony, while Ben was grinning ear to ear the entire day. It's rare when a bride is willing to get her dress a little dirty on the day of the wedding (Trash-the-dress sessions are awesome by the way! Call me if you'd like to have one!), but Emily was actually willing to go running through the field with Ben for us, even though there were little thorns everywhere and a it had rained the night before. Enjoy this little taste of the day!

Washington DC Wedding Photographer - Arlington Westin Hotel - Ann Chi and Robert

Ann Chi and Robert tied the knot at the beautiful Westin Hotel in Arlington, and Moshe Zusman and I were there to capture and document their day. Pink was the color of the day, and it was popping up everywhere, from Ann Chi's shoes to the flowers in her room, to the paper umbrellas her family carried and the decorations at the ceremony. Ann Chi was grinning ear to ear overtime she and Robert caught each other's eyes, and were inseperable the entire day!

P.S. I almost forgot to explain! They had the same group that performed at the 4th of July Celebration in DC perform the dancing lions at their reception! It was one of the coolest, unexpected things I've ever seen at a wedding!

Baltimore Wedding Photographer - Marci and Brian

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of documenting Marci and Brian's special day with Natalie "Flickr" Franke, who came all the way from Philadelphia for their wedding! They had a beautiful ceremony, as Marci had tears of joy streaming down her face as she walked down the aisle. Every time they caught each other's eye they broke out in ear to ear smiles! After the wedding as they dashed out to the limo in the rain, they were thrilled to discover their driver went and picked them up some McDonald's since they mentioned how hungry they were and she knew the bride and groom NEVER get enough time to eat at their own weddings! Marci's family is Polish and part of the Polish tradition is for the bride to wear a babushka (the scarf on her head in the last few images), while dancing with guests who put money in her veil, that the maid of honor holds. The bridesmaids keep her husband from getting to her until he throw his wallet into the veil. That signifies his commitment to provide for his new wife and family. It was a really cool tradition to be right in the middle of, even though I got shoved around a bit (it's a dangerous job, but somebody's got to do it!)

Fairfax Wedding Photographer - Kelly and Chris

Finally catching up on some blog posts! These are some of my favorites from Kelly and Chris's wedding in Fairfax, VA. I was shooting was shooting with the leather Converse Chuck wearing Paul Price (there's a story there, but you'd have to ask him!) The weatherman swore there would be rain, but it was a beautiful blue sky all day, which was awesome, since the reception was outdoors at Kelly's parents house, which had a humongous backyard with a beautiful pond and bright green foliage all around. Her bridesmaids were the adventerous type, and we were able to get all of them on a trampoline for some pretty funny and rare shots! Seriously how often do you see six lovely ladies bouncing on a trampoline in dress's holding bouquets? Jim Hester of Soundwave Entertainment kept things fun on the dance floor with some great props and unique interactions with the crowd. You just don't see many DJ's who will willingly wear an oversized foam cowboy hat! The party ended with a bang as you'll see below when Kelly's mom surprised the couple with a fireworks show across the pond, which made for an awesome ending to the night.

Jim Hester of Soundwave Entertainment really kept the party cooking
